Dr. Stuart Silverberg has played a pivotal role in the integration of technology into the Randolph Township School District. He has conducted a series of workshops to help classroom teachers become more comfortable with integrating technology into their classrooms. His superior knowledge of many software programs and internet sites has proven to be quite beneficial to my classroom activities in all subject areas. Dr. Silverberg has been extremely easy to work with. His response to questions and concerns is always prompt and his willingness to share his knowledge of technology never ceases. His hard work and dedication has positively impacted not only my classroom but many classrooms throughout the district.

I have attended numerous workshops conducted by Dr. Silverberg and I have learned a great deal, from technology education and website design to how to order materials. Even when dealing with tight budget constraints, Dr. Silverberg continued to provide quality programs, professional development and prompt service.

Dr. Silverberg is extremely helpful and is eager to assist others in developing their skills using various software programs. This year he introduced our staff to Nettrekker, Atomic Learning and eChalk. He has also informed us of computer workshops taking place in the area where we can refine our computer skills. I appreciated the time Dr. Silverberg took to assist me when I was applying for a schoolwide technology grant. He has been an asset to our District coordinating our technology dept and integrating technology into the curriculum.

Critical support provided to the science department by Dr. Silverberg was in providing laptop computers for lab use and facilitating their introduction into science classroom use. Desktop computers were unsatisfactory for use with computer monitor probes. Laptops added portability, a small foot print, easy storage and served a greater number of classrooms. Dr. Silverberg's support in making the paradigm shift in science was essential to help our science program make much more effective use of computer technology in labs. Strapped by a very small allocation of money to computer technology, Dr. Silverberg explored and implemented a lease-purchase arrangement that made equipment possible in one year that would otherwise have taken three.

Dr. Silverberg came into the district when we were stagnant as far as technology goes. Our district traditionally does not spend much money on it so it makes it difficult to implement a vision. When Dr. Silverberg came into the district I was the Science Supervisor. We had not upgraded our science classroom computers in years. He was able to get us carts of laptops and work with the small amount of money he was given to move us in a forward direction. He did this with a positive attitude and focus on things that he could try to change given the budget.

I entered the public school system from the "business" environment several years ago and found the technology gap to be something very difficult to work with. Mr. Silverberg was in the forefront of addressing this situation and consequently brought much needed upgrades to the email and communication system here in the middle school. My thanks to him for providing online training, either at school or at home for staff members.

Working with Dr. Silverberg has been a very positive experience. he was always willing to work with the staff on any concern, even on a one-to-one basis. His knowledge of innovative programs and "what's out there" was extremely helpful to both the novice and veteran teacher. As a result of his tutelage, I was able to secure a technology-based grant to install a weather station at our school that enables students to read our equipment from the computers in their rooms. It has been a pleasure working with Dr. Silverberg.

Not only is Dr. Silverberg's expertise in technology invaluable, his ability to communicate and facilitate at meetings/committees is very apparent. His staff gave me tremendous support as I pursue my Master's Degree, specifically instructing me in the use of PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of these programs are required for graduate work, yet are not part of the class curriculum.

Dr. Silverberg was a great help to the teachers in the middle school. I particularly appreciated his sending temporary subscriptions to websites that we could use with our students to consider for purchase. Anytime we had a question or wanted to learn a new skill, Dr. Stu was right there with a workshop or private lesson. We will all miss his enthusiasm and willingness to share his expertise. We are better teachers because he was here.

If it weren't for Dr. Silverberg, I can safely say that the Music Technology program that I started in 2000 would have had to be canceled. My older iMacs were dying slow, painful deaths and more current music software would not run. The music supervisor planned to get me 4 to 6 new eMacs, but when Stu came in and saw the problem with having a lab with mixed operating systems and capabilities, he immediately found funding to replace all of the computers in the lab. I am greatly saddened by his leaving our district. He really was instrumental in pulling our district into the 21st century. He is easy to work with and understands how to get things done.

I can honestly say that without Stu Silverberg the music department would not have the proper equipment needed to run a successful technology lab. He was a strong influence in obtaining adequate computers and software to support and educationally sound music technology lab. He was always trying to help all teachers in securing decent software and up to date computers for their classes. I greatly appreciate what a kind and helpful person Dr. Stuart Silverberg is and has been to the Randolph School System. He will be missed and whoever is lucky enough to work with Stuart will find these qualities in him as well. He would be an asset to any school system wanting to improve or learn about computer technology.

Dr. Stuart Silverberg has been amazing to work with. From his devotion to the classroom to his compassion for the teacher, he is a gem! Dr. Silverberg has always been approachable and willing to help. Whether it was doing a sample laptop lesson in my classroom or helping me write a technology grant, he did it all with pride. Dr. Silverberg always went the extra step and I will truly miss having him here at Randolph. I know although he is leaving, I can always call on him with a question or concern. They broke the mold after Dr. Silverberg was created!
